Devlog 6: Animation, Modelling & UE Widgets

Guns!

Hello there! I've been working hard on the first default weapon for our players. Every FPS game needs a trusty Pistol, right? While it won't blow your enemies away, it might just be your ticket out of a tight spot. I'm very pleased with how the model has turned out, and I've also added textures and animations to give it that extra oomph.

Animations!

I've been focusing on improving my animation skills. Recently, I created a new "Sprinting" animation. Now, you don't have to walk everywhere slowly; you can run! I've also added animations for the Pistol, including a shooting animation, and they've turned out quite smoothly. I look forward to revealing the final product in the future.

Enemies!

I'd like to introduce the first enemy in the game. I won't reveal too much, but here's a small preview. This monster has long, sharp limbs that will put you in danger when you're up close and personal with it.

Widgets!

Now, about those widgets. I've been busy working on a menu screen for level selection, which I mentioned in a previous dev log. It turns out Unreal Engine's Widgets tool is just the tool for the job. Currently, I'm mastering the basics, and I'll continue researching this tool to recreate the prototype menu for the game. Stay tuned for a dedicated Devlog where we'll dive deeper into this exciting feature!

That's all for now. I apologize for the break between this and the previous Devlog. Keep an eye on this page for future updates, and I'll catch up with you soon!
